Below are selected references that are good to know for a new employee at TU Delft:
Administration & Support
- Your NetID is your key to the TU Delft. Note, it is not necessarily the same as the first part of your e-mail address.
- Your campus card allows you to get coffee and tea, print anywhere on campus, and give you access to the TU Delft car park facilities.
- Access your e-mail anywhere through webmail. Log in with NetID (NOT your e-mail address) and password.
- Change your password in the Self Service Password Reset.
- On our Intranet you’ll find a personal landing page that you can customize by adjusting the settings in dedicated boxes. Good for looking up how to do administrative tasks, like requesting holidays and registering working hours in TIM.
- Administer personal data in the TU Delft Identity Manager. Here you add content to your personal page (e.g., https://www.tudelft.nl/staff/m.w.a.kok/). Please note: It takes some time before this page and changes to it appear.
- You can update your photo in the TU Delft Identity Manager.
- In the Self Service Portal (TopDesk), you can find practical information on facilities and services available. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact the Service Desk for help.
- When your monthly payslip is ready, you will be notified by e-mail. Your salary will be paid on the following dates.
Parking and getting around the campus
- Look up buildings, bus stops, and more in the TU Delft Campus Map.
- For general TU Delft accessibility related questions, check here.
- TU Delft has set up a parking policy, you can find a map that shows the parking spots.
- As a TU Delft employee coming to the campus on a bike, you can park your bike in secure bike sheds at your faculty and can usually request access through department secretaries.
- If you need a bike to get around the campus, you can reserve a bike through TopDesk.
ICT Services and Software
- The Research Support Portal is a portal where researchers at TU Delft, from PhD candidates through to professors, can find the services and resources they need.
- ICT hosts a webpage that holds a large variety of manuals, including Microsoft Teams, e-mail, working remotely and connecting to the TU Delft network (or on how you can provide visitors access to the network).
- Our Self Service Portal holds information on available ICT Services for different target groups, for example, IT workspace and IT for Researchers may be rather relevant.
- SURF is the IT cooperative of Dutch education and research. Through it, you have access several key resources via your NetID. For example:
- SURFdrive for secure and sovereign cloud storage.
- SURFfilesender for sending (large) files securely.
- SURFspot for discounted software and hardware that is not available through TU Delft (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Parallels).
- Snellius for the largest supercomputing system in the Netherlands.
- You have a Microsoft 365 account. You can login with your NetID.
- For LaTeX users, you have an Overleaf account. Log in through your institution using your TU Delft e-mail address.
- If you need office supplies for your home office, you can request supplies such as a desk, chair, and monitor. Please discuss this first with your line manager.
