Welcome to the onboarding program developed by the TU Delft Digital Competence Centre. This documentation contains information and references that are useful to know when starting at the TU Delft as a Research Software Engineer (RSE) or a similar position.
RSEs play a crucial role in enabling high-quality, sustainable, and reproducible research. RSE-like roles may be listed as:
- Research Data Engineer (RDE)
- Research Engineer
- Data Manager
- Postdoc
Although roles differ, many challenges, skills, and practices are shared. For consistency, the name RSE is used throughout.
